going global

mindful MATERIALS is an international collaboration hub and digital library of sustainability data from building product manufacturers and independent reporting bodies. International Hubs are integral to this mission of mindful MATERIALS. Working in close partnership with mM staff and volunteers, each hub works to identify regional challenges and opportunities to reach a future with mindful materials for all. Separately, and as a global network, they build global awareness, advocacy and action on materials sustainability.

CANADA

HUB LEADER: CAGBC

The Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) is national not-for-profit dedicated to unlocking the power and potential of green buildings and transforming Canadian communities to be healthy, sustainable and resilient in the face of climate change.

CAGBC’s Sustainable Materials Accelerator tackles systemic issues that inhibit the availability, procurement and installation of sustainable materials in Canada. Their collaboration with mindful MATERIALS enables them to promote the infrastructure Canadian organizations need to make better product sourcing decisions and publicly commit to materials action. By establishing a Canadian mM Hub, CAGBC and mM are sending a strong market signal that material change isn’t on the horizon but is already here. Together, these organizations are building their way forward to a more sustainable future.
